Medical History and Medications: During your pre-operative appointment, your physician will review your medical history and current medications. It’s important to provide accurate information about any medical conditions you have and any medications you’re taking, including over-the-counter and herbal supplements.

Pre-operative Tests: Your physician may order pre-operative tests, such as blood tests, imaging tests, and electrocardiograms (ECG), to ensure you’re healthy enough for surgery. These tests help your medical team plan for a safe and successful surgery.

Anesthesia Consultation: You may meet with an anesthesiologist before surgery to discuss the anesthesia plan for your procedure. It’s important to discuss any concerns you have about anesthesia and to follow any pre-operative instructions provided by the anesthesiologist.

Preparing for Recovery: Before surgery, it’s important to prepare for your recovery at home. This may include arranging for someone to drive you home after surgery, stocking up on necessary supplies, and preparing your home for your return.

Follow-up Appointments: After your pre-operative appointment, you’ll schedule follow-up appointments with your physician to discuss your surgery plan and address any concerns you may have. It’s important to attend these appointments to ensure you’re prepared for surgery.

Questions and Concerns: If you have any questions or concerns about your surgery or the pre-operative process, don’t hesitate to contact your physician. It’s important to be informed and prepared for your surgery to ensure the best possible outcome.
