POST OPERATIVE INFORMATION

After Surgery:

Discharge Instructions: Follow detailed instructions from your physician regarding diet, rest, exercise, and medications. It’s important to review these instructions with the accompanying adult to ensure a smooth recovery process.

Precautions: After surgery, it’s essential to avoid activities that could put strain on your spine or surgical site. This includes avoiding heavy lifting, driving, and strenuous activities. Your physician will provide specific guidelines based on your surgery and individual needs.

Medications: Your physician will prescribe pain medications and other medications as needed. It’s important to take these medications as directed and to not exceed the recommended dosage.

Follow-up Appointments: Make sure to schedule and attend all follow-up appointments with your physician. These appointments are crucial for monitoring your recovery and addressing any concerns or complications that may arise. It is your responsibility to follow instructions provided by your physician which helps minimize your risks and help allow for faster recovery and best outcomes.

Emergencies: If you experience any complications or emergencies after surgery, you should contact your physician immediately and go to the nearest emergency room.
